Hi-Tech Salamander & Snipe

Both 1/48 kits have arrived on the West Coast, typical of their efforts. Look forward to the 1/32 Alb D V, any update on release date?

There is a review of the Snipe over at Cybermodeler

... and given the price of the kit and the appearance of the sprues I'm wondering whether I shouldn't just wait another year or two and see if Eduard doesn't release one someday. The flash around the wings and fuselage parts I could live with, but the plastic cockpit parts and some others look like they might be candidates for scratch replacement. Just not sure that it's something I want to spend my hobby dollars on considering the effort entailed.

Kit value

Yes, I was very pleased with the 1/32 Battle Axe Fok. D.VII, despite all its flaws, because it was a 1/32 kit of my favorite airplane, and it builds up well with effort. I bought two. I WOULD have bought more, but you hit a point of diminishing returns for your investment. Also, the way things are going, if and when Roden does a reasonably accurate, fairly priced 1/32 Fok. D.VII, I will buy a dozen or more. That's the way of supply and demand.

Where are the "Sprue" Shots Available? If anyone can post I would be interested! How would you rate the High Tech Snipe versus the Blue Max rendition?

Address for Cybermodeler...

http://www.cybermodeler.com

The Snipe review should still be among the thumbnails on the homepage. Let me know if you can't get to it.

These kits are definitely pretty expensive. The June Squadron supplement lists $44.96 for each one.
