Translation or Translation Service?
A few months ago I purchased a letter written by Oswald Boelcke. I have been hoping to get it translated along with about 6 other letters written in German between 1916 and 1918 by a different pilot. Does anyone out there have any experience with a translation service that they could recommend? I am willing to pay anyone for their time, but I am looking for a really good translation.... HF

You'll want to check out http://www.freetranslation.com/ ... They not only offer free translations, but professional and specialty translations as well. Hope this helps!

HF... Good luck with the project! Yes please... Let us know how the translation turns out, as I'm sure we would all like to read a few words from the great Boelcke himself!

Translation....
Hello and thank you for the good wishes! My understanding is that the Feldpost is written to Boelcke's father, Prof. Boelcke. It supposedly describes among other things the often unreliable mail system the soldiers and flyers were exposed to at the time. It is written in pencil and is signed with the Boelcke name 3 times. I have no information on the other flyer's letters at this time. Once I get the OB letter translated, I will post it on the Memorabilia link for all to see. HF

Very happy the translation is coming along!... I will eagerly look forward to hearing more! One thing though, mein Freund... could you possibly scan the letters and post them? That would be an even greater gift to all! I for one would love to see them! Viele Dank!

Translation.....
Halo VonReichel-
Yes, I would be more than happy to post the contents of all the letters. The more information made public, the better for everyone! I want to be sure to receive the translated information first and then I will make it available here. My posted images are not the best I must admit. As a reader of German, can you read the image I posted of the front of the Boelcke Feldpost? If so, then the reverse of the letter should be just as fuzzy, or clear!! Regards, HF

I'm sorry to say, it came out pretty "out of focus" on my end. Nonetheless... I'm still looking forward to seeing your results! Best of luck with your project, and let us know how things progress! "Hals und Beinbruch", mein Freund!

I am less than perfect with grammar, but if a native english speaking member will iron out my typos and grammar problems, I could do the translation.

Translation....
Hello All-
If you go to the Boelcke autograph thread you can read the translation of the front of the Feldpost courtesy of Rammjaeger. Thank you again for your help Rammjaeger. "Thank you's" around too for the folks who have posted their willingness to do the translation. I'll place an image of the reverse of the feldpost once it is translated.... History Fan
