Question Zeppelin-Staaken Drivers

Is anyone aware of any first person accounts regarding the flying of the Zeppelin-Staaken bombers? Technical info is easier to find than how they flew, were they beasts or gentle giants?

Accurate fiction would satisfy my interest.

Hi,

No first hand accounts, however...

She had a very big span, was really slow (about 125km/hr), engines were underpowered for the plane some people say, and ameliorations happened from plane to plane almost, a bit like it's Russian counterpart. I would say it was rather good to fly, as we see no really big landing accidents as with the Gotha's, and for the pilots, they were in a spacious closed cockpit, with windows.

FWIW, I think it can't have been that bad.

Best from Johan

Except for that poor private lowered in the observer car. And those big diesel engines must have been loud.
