Fokker Dr1 delivery to staffels

We all know that MvR, Voss, and Wolff received their Tripes in September '17, but when were they readily available to the rest of the German pilots? Would someone come by one day and replace all the machines currently being used, or would they trickle in to each staffel until they received a full complement? Could some units elect to keep their Albs? (Why would they?)....and lastly, even if a udated machine was available, would a new pilot being posted, get an updated machine or an old one? ("ha...at flying school they'll tell you anything!")

The early pre-production triplanes were delivered as evaluation machines to Jage I to Voss and MvR.

When a unit was about to be re-equipped the pilots would fly their old machines to the Flug Park and exchange them for the new machines which they would fly back to the unit. This would have to be arranged via official authorization channels. The aircraft would be delivered first by train to the Flug Park and re-assembled, etc.

Many airfields were also located by a rail line. Perhaps some deliveries would be made by rail, but this would have been the exception rather than the rule.
