Any Request?
Well its time to start thinking about another project to work on, the problem is I don't have any idea on what. I have already done 2 of my favorites and Mark has done the other 2, so what next?
Perhaps something early, with lots of rigging, maybe a mono plane and or something not so popular but that made a difference........and looks pleasing to the eye. Also one that has a good counterpart on the other side.
Oh and nothing so obscure that I wont be able to find any research on it.
HELP!
Please list your thoughts and a short summary of why.
Thank you to all who reply

What about one of the various German "Taube" aircraft? This one would meet all the above mentioned specifications.
I would also propose another aircraft: the German Albatros C.III - pretty early, a 2-seater (most artists are focussed on fighters) ...

A Taube is a great idea - but be forewarned that you're going to go NUTS researching them. They were built by everybody and their brother after Igo Etrich gave up the German rights to the design, and there were significant variations not only from manufacturer to manufacturer but from airframe to airframe. I'd love to see you do it, Tim - and I'd suggest you go with one of the stahltauben such as the Jeannin version. They have a somewhat simpler structure and a lot less rigging than the wooden ones, and that's still three times as much as anything else!
I'd also look at the B.E.'s and the Morane-Saulnier L / Pfalz A.I. Both would give you lots to play with in terms of color schemes, armament and operational use. It would be a hoot to see a MoS mixing it up with it's Pfalz doppelganger. . . . . .

I'd go with the Rumpler Taube 1914 4C version. Less external wire and odd ailerons. Some data is available, I have some as I've already built one for RS.
You know where to come for info if you need any.

Moranes, but not one's that are done to death. For example, Types P, BB, AC, etc. would be great.

Two-Seaters
Tim,
I really like your work, although I have not perused it as much as I have Mark's; and that's mainly because he posts his updates to the Modeler's List where I tend to hang out more, and I've been working on some Nieuports. I will be using your work in my modeling efforts when I start some SPADS though!
I would like to add my voice along with Volker's vote for the Albie C.III, everyone seems to want to do fighters, and WE ALL KNOW that they were a side-show, and that it was the two-seaters that formed the real backbone of WWI aviation.
While I would like to see you do most any two-seater, how about the Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter? There is a lot of documentation, two datafiles, and you have a myriad of markings options with RFC, French (they built a gob of those things!), Belgian, IRAS, and Russian Civil War. You could even do a post-war USN Strutter.
Just my two cents,
Warren
