There is not too much on the web, one site with some data is at http://web.ukonline.co.uk/stephen.johnson/arms/ but a few of good books I have:

German Artillary of WWI - Herbert Jager ISBN 1-86126-403-8
Allied Artillety of WWI - Ian Hogg ISBN 1-86126-104-7
The Guns and Gunners of Malta - Denis Rollo ISBN 99909-68-83-7

There are a few other, not got the names to hand.

Voss_man:
The German 88mm so well known by the British VIII Army in North Africa in 1941-42 was an Fliegerabwehrkanonne in WWI.

Dan-san---the WWII "88" was a different gun from the WWI model. The later one was a semi-automatic, with the breech opened by the recoil of the barrel. The earlier gun was hand operated, and it had less velocity, and thus less range.
