Could somebody give some comment of this photo?
On the possible date, on the personnel or pilots that appear in her or on any fact related to this image.
Thanked in advance.

Dario,
That same photo appears in "The Illustrated Red Baron" by Peter Kilduff on page 81. Peter's book says:
General der Infanterie Erich von Ludendorff (The man in the middle shaking hands) and members of his staff accompanied Richthofen (To the Generals left) during an inspection of JG 11 on Sunday 19 August 1917.

By the way...that was Richthofen's "office" in the background for the General to see.

The photo caption in Kilduff's book has a little error. The General was not a nobleman. The correct name of the Generalquartiermeister was Erich Ludendorff ( without the "von" ).

I'd bet dollars to donuts (if your date is correct) the Jasta 11 pilot who's hand is being shaken is Ltn Guido Scheffer. As far as I've been able to find, he's the only one in the Staffel who wears a soft, light-coloured cap such as this during this period.
Then again.. Meyers' (Dario's avitar) cap is similar but I think darker than Scheffer's.
Are there any other known photos of this visit/inspection?

Rod
Now I've flip-flopped. Karl (Carlos) Meyer had a light coloured hat band. Scheffer's was dark. Its Meyer if I had to chose between them.

Another well known photo from the set shows MvR with head bandaged in salute pose with PLM'S Dostler and Pechman behind him. Dostler was killed 48 hours later.

This picture has been used in a brilliant new book by Mike O'Connor and Norman Franks - In the Footsteps of the Red Baron - Pen & Sword Battlefield Europe series, page 28. On page 27 is a plan of the airfield showing exactly where the picture was taken. It also shows were the chateau was situated in relation to the inspection group. Norman F

That sounds absolutely fantastic!
Say, do you know the author? (....and is the book out yet?)
