"Shot Down In Flames" real or fake???
On "Photos of the Great War Website" under aviation and "Central Powers Aircraft and Equipment" is a photo called "Shot Down In flames" a german aircraft broken in two with engine pointing up is on fire.
ALso under "CENTRAL Powers Aviators" is a photo purporting to show a German Balloon observer jumping from his basket in a parachute. Are these photos REAL OR FAKE??? I've seen a version of this airplane picture published by UNDERWOOD ANd UNDERWOOD OF NEW YORK For reference only-copyrigthed     URL http://www.gwpda.org/photos/greatwar.htm |
