I like that Salamander, and what's that? Could it possibly be another Snipe in Barker's markings?

Good job posting them Ross, they both look great!

Hmmm, I'm sure the camo Salamander was a prototype that, whilst it was sent to France for evaluation, crashed before it could be used in anger.

No production Salamanders got overseas before the Armistice. Whilst working up in the UK they were in the usual PC10, and the fin didn't look anything like the artwork!

Thanks for posting those Ross!

I've been looking at the Snipe in the "New" section at Squadron Mail Order for a long time- any word on when the kit will hit the shelves?

Is nobody worried that the Salamander has the frong fin, and that Barker's Snipe has the wrong ailerons????

After all the fuss about Roden's SE5A wing ribs, is nobody worried about major outline defects?

Mike, Never judge a book ( or kit) by its cover! Until the parts are available for viewing I will refrain from judgement. By the way, the Roden SE5a kit had the right wing rib pattern on the Box Art
RAGIII
PS, I have No Problem with criticism of the Art work being incorrect!

Hello Mike,

Please, listen the voice of the wisdom of RAG III and did you think that I am a little boy

I don't think.

The SNIPE image is before correction of art work and for the SALAMANDER, of course it never see the "combat" as on the image, also it was possible that this day.... he has this fin..... , as a lot of the 160 SALAMANDER used after war.... it is "la licence arstistique" I don't know how translate this in english.

Don't worry Mike, in the kit, you will have both sorts of ailerons and both sorts of fins, it would be possible to built good or wrong SNIPE or SALAMANDER.

About Barker markings, it was difficult for me to do an other choice, his "dogfight" was so great, that it was a sort of "hommage" and as compensation, you will find on the PE part, the specific "sight" of Barker.
I hope ( I know ) that some decals companies are interested to produce decals for these...

Philippe,

I am only concerned that some people might build and paint a model by following the attractive box art. That's fine if what's depicted is correct, but when it isn't.....

The artwork was posted as
Quote:
Box top art work for the next 2 releases
Not the pre-production artwork for the next 2 releases.

I fully understand artistic licence and I suppose in the case of the TF2 it's difficult to come up with artwork that is both authentic and interesting at the same time.

This is totaly my error. Philippe asked me to post the images here. I didn't check with him if they ware production or pre-production. Sorry that this has caused confusion. Philippe is a great guy.

WHY !!!! was this thread SOOOOOOO wide ? I couldn't get it all on my screen.

I just think it is great a kit company wants to model something that is not a Fokker DVII.
