1/72 Pavla I-15 (2 wings and spats, had to share)

Not WW I, I know, but I just finished this little jewel. I love the airplane, but this is not Pavla's best foot forward, plastic was very grainy (peebly, take your pick). It shows too, because it's impossible to remove without totally removing all the barely recessed engraving. Paints are Polly Scale SF Silver on the metal panels, MM Acryl for the aluminum doped fabric, and Polly Scale Seaboard Airline Chinese Red for the red to match the decal red. All was primed using Polly Scale Reefer White before shooting the above colors. Various sized hypos for the gun ports (23-gauge), exhausts (21-gauge), and gunsight (22-gauge). Rigging is done with 0.008-in stainless steel surgical wire. Windshield framing done with silver decal trim film.

Nice build Red.

Also the ICM 1/72 kits are quite nice also.

Ignore some of the more AMS afflicted you get here....

We are attempting to gently move them out of the 1914-1918 period and into the 1920's, then hopefully its a series of simple incremental steps until they reach modernity. We are using restored newsreels to move them along.

And..........

Even better news is that MPM and Eduard are collaborating to do an Avia B.H. 534!!!

Here's a link.....

Eduard/MPM Avia BH 534

All the Best

Cool

That's very cool Red! If only I could build so well. Makes me wonder if I should take some pics of the Encore Polikarpov I transformed into an Avions Kangouro in Belgian markings. I just love those Red, Yellow and Black roundels.

Red

(if you are interested, and I'm sure you actually aren't )

The interuption to the space-time fabric and the Black Hole so unnecessarily mentioned above, is a phenomena I believe caused by monotonously regular excessive and strong transference of hot air from interior to exterior which is a common phenomena in these parts......

Nothing to be alarmed about really... it disapates after a bit.....

Excellent work, Red! Pavlov's machines sure were beauties.

FWIW, here's Pavlov's I-5 (the awesome ICM kit) I finished earlier in the year.

You can find a full-build review of the kit on my VVS site.

AAAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!....ok I feel better now. Armorama.com seems to have all eras covered under one title or another. Internal dialog - Mutter, mutter...shaking head. Where are all these non aircraft coming from....Where's that daddy button.... Back to reality,

Armorama.com is a reasonable generalist modelling site and may cover this area of modelling from time to time.

A bit of a search may reveal some specialist sites....

There is a Yahoo Golden Age Mailing List which is pretty moribund mostly these days. Here is a link to the Group Home:

Golden Age Mailing List

If you are that way inclined, there is a very nice and active Yahoo Group devoted to the very stylish De Haviland DH 89 Dragon Rapide. Many of the members of this group have links to other Golden Age Interest areas. Here is a link to this Group site.

Dragon Rapide List Home Site

If you do join this group, just don't drink the port Parker may offer you....

Oh yes.... Just in case you've all forgotten just how nice a Dragon Rapide can look.... Here's a quick peek....

(I hope that other fellow is sitting down for this....)

There is also a "Wings of Peace" Group devoted to 1919-1939 Civil aircraft but I don't have a link for you to this group.

Good Luck with your searches.

HTH
