Thumbs up

That's a good price. I have one on the way from Barnes & Noble for $13.48 ($12.80 for members).

The wife is picking mine up today...Barnes & Noble called telling me about my secret Christmas gift being in. I just told her that they called. Heh heh!

I don't know if it's intentional, but it's a timely release, considering the interest that may be created with The Aviator.

$11.24 at Amazon (shipping is free if the order totals more than $25); now would you be shocked if I changed into something more comfortable?

Understand you can order from www.Amazon.com as they will ship to foreign countries. Are European DVD's formatted the same as US DVD's ??

Dear TGVVI,
Unfortunately, this DVD is only for Region 1, ie it will not work in Europe (Region 2); on the other hand, is it possible that your recipient has a DVD player that can read all regions? I've heard that such players exist, but please don't quote me...

I did take a look at Amazon in the UK-- again, "Hell's Angels" is only formatted for Region 1, although you can purchase it from Amazon UK; the film wasn't even listed with Amazon France...

Last night saw me watching this great film (for the flying sequences, at least); perhaps it was my imagination or the lateness of the hour, but, when compared with my VHS copy, I found the image to be a bit darker, sometimes noticeably so. Also, the sound had been "equalized", ie when Monty shouts over the roar of the bomber's engines to his brother Roy, you can barely hear him-- while it comes out nice and clear on the VHS! Perhaps it's just my DVD player, which no one could ever accuse in a court of law of being top of the line...

Still, it was a real trip watchin' how them D.7s climbed and dove... it was "bombs away!" all the way with Jean, Ben, and Jim-- but especially with Jean!

Dvd

You can get a program from the Internete to make your DVD play any region. My son undertook the action for me as he is into this stuff. The Region system is illegal in Australia as it is in restraint of trade, so it is legal to get the program.

So, it is up to you.
