Böhning DV Albatros
The picture is from Bob Pearson's First Quarter website. He states that this aircraft had 4 color lozenge. Is this true? DSA, GVW, and all others, I would greatly apreciate your input and reasons as well as possible sources of documentation.

Next Question
OK, Now that that's settled. blue, salmon, or 5 color tapes? Is the tail two tone?? If I don't find something definitive, I will probably go with the lighter color blue for the horiz tail with the central bay darker blue as on the vert tail.

Hans Bohning's Alb.D.Va.
David Johnson:
That is a umlaut o in Böhning. I find this drawing interesting. My drawing appeared in C&C Great Britain some time back. On my drawing I came to a conclusion that the device on the fuselage was the Ace of Spades? My drawing is dated 11/81. Pearson does not credit C&C or me as the source?
Witth the wings covered with five color printed fabric the rib tapes would be salmon pink.
Blue skies,
Dan-San

He does, Dan. The very bottom of his Albatros page says:

Among others, the following were consulted:
Various issues of OVER THE FRONT and CROSS AND COCKADE
Above the Lines: Franks/Bailey & Guest
Dan-San Abbott's research
Robert Karr's research

Mr. Pearson's had his own work pinched a few times over the years - he seems to be pretty concientious about giving credit where credit's due. Hope I'm not stepping into anything here . . . .

Color of Blue?
Soderbaum:
On my drawing I had the fuselage, upper, lower fin and tailplane light blueand with dark blue stripes. The light blue could of course be Bavarian (BMW) blue.
Blue skies,

DSA, Thank you for the tapes information. Be assured as Eric stated, that you and C&C are stated as source. That is why I specifically mentioned you in the original post. Thanks to all for sharing your knowledge!
P.S. Dan-San, You would have copies of your drawing available for purchase?
