Nieuport 17 N1977 was Robert Soubiran's machine during the winter of 1916-17. The plate is wrong in a number of aspects. Soubiran's plane had from front to back, a Seminole Indian head just behind the cockpit, a wide red or black band with a narrow blue trim band to it's front and an ornate 'S' in red or black. Also there was no fuselage cocade.
And to be a nit-picker about the plate; the Vickers and Lewis guns were 303 British caliber not 30 caliber. The latter is an American caliber that was not used by the British who made the mgs.
