Picked up a copy of Stuart-Wortley's "Letters From a Flying Officer" and was surprised to find that it is framed as a fictional account. I have seen this book referenced many times in historical works which is why I picked it up. What is the consensus as to the value of this work; is the fictional veneer so thin or obvious that the wheat can be readily separated from the chaff?
