Quotes: "fitted with apparatus for dropping of eight 250 lb and eight 112 lb bombs."
These two sources are at ods. Unless the second only refers to fittings, and the load is made up to a value.

The HP O100 and the follow-on O400 carried a max of 16x50 kg bombs, or 8x100 kg., depending on the distances involved. That's 800kg, not 8112.8. Some of these reference books need to polish up on their metric conversions! I have one that used all the formulae the wrong way, ending up with some mind-boggling figures. Eight metric tons would have made her a "Bloody Paralyser" indeed!

The Handley Page /100 could carry internally sixteen 112 lb bombs. The Handley Page /400 could carry sixteen 112 lb bombs or eight 250lb bombs, or three 520 or 550 lb bombs or one 1650 lb bomb under the fuselage.

Pursuant to the original question... though the O/400 fuel tanks were internal (above the bombs, I belive), the original O/100 tanks were mounted externally aft of the engines. What did the interior of the O/100 look like? Was it just a huge open space?

The 16 bombs were carried internally, nose up so the crew could arm them in flight. One O400 was used to develop a 2000 pound armour piercing bomb, carried externally of course.

PJFisher-- The first O100 carried 20 H-P employees to an altitude of 7000 feet, so there was some empty space in there somewhere!

Thanks Volker, for posting those pics of my model!
One major difference in the guts of the 0/100 from 0/400 is that the 0/100 had only one big fuel tank behind the cockpit. If the model had been of the 0/100, the rear tank would not be there.
