Does anyone know if there are 1/48th scale Werner Voss decals available for his Dr. I? If you do, could you please tell me who makes them and if there are sets available for purchase. Thanks.

Does Americal Gryphon?
There's a place to check.
Otherwise, you could do everything but the "F1/ 103" and the cowl face from existing sheets that carry the crosses and cross fields and either cobble the numbers or paint them and the face, in event.
"F1/103" is going to be as much a challenge to obtain as the face.

I'm sure at one time someone must have made them, but I haven't run across any in 48th scale that I can ever remember. I sure would love to have a couple sets for myself. I do wish that a decal company would put out a set of serial markings. Also how about a sheet of serial markings of "Aces".
Salute,
Steve

The Blue Max Tripe came with Voss Markings as an alternative to MvR. anyone who built the kit and used the Richthofen markings may still have them. IHTH

I used the Voss decals with no major problem. Could be that you had a bad batch?

There is a resin conversion kit made by Rosemont hobby for Voss's F.1 (not a Dr.1). This gives you the correct tail, ailerons & cowling with rounded lower edge. It also has decals for all 3 of the F.1's, 101, 102 & 103/17. I am currently working on the kit for an online review on Internet Modeler (slower than I would like, but my 2 year old son needs more attention than my models).
The resin parts are beautifully molded, and the decals look great. I think it is $11.00 for the conversion. Good deal in my oppinion, and available online at rosemonthobbies.com I believe.

Cinti, if you want/can, you can handpaint the face on the cowl. Some practice would do it.
The numbers are more difficult, really.
The Blue Max decals referred to do not age well but I blame myself for not first coating them with Future/Kleer/Klir/Big Kev's and etc.
That would've fixed them and did for the roundels on another build.
When fresh, Blue Max are some of the thinnest, nicest in the biz.
I favor their loz too - a bit bright, but a tint varnish could knock that down.
But the Dr 1 kit is - what - 4 years+ old?
The cals are probably baked by now....
just - a - thort.

When I bought the conversion years ago it was the Resin parts only! The addition of the Decals make it tempting to purchase another!!
