Hello all!

I´m looking for a good b/w photo of the SIEMENS-SCHUCKERT E-SERIES FIGHTER (esp. the E.I)

I found almost all data concerning the SSW E.I, except the ceiling. This aircraft series was not built in large numbers. But for me it is of interest to compare it with the contemporary Pfalz and Fokker fighters.

Thank you very much for your help!

Hello Volkert,

I found two pictures of the SSW E.1

Here's the first one.

I hope it's what you want...

Volkert,

Here's number two. In front is a SS D.D5

You asked for the ceiling.
The SS E.1 had a service ceiling of 20.240 ft.

Greetings,

Jos

Hello Jos!

Thank you very, very much! You filled a considerable gap in my list of aircraft.

BTW, The E.I looks much more elegant than the Fokker or Pfalz E-series, does it?

Hello Volker,

I agree, but I also like the Pfalz E-series.
By the way, the Pfalz D.III(a) is one of the planes I like the best. I like the shape of the fuselage (Wickelrumpf technique).

I think it's difficult to get any pictures of the Siemens-Schuckert E-II and E.III.
It seems there was only one model of the E-II and it was crashed during tests.
From the E-III model were only 6 examples built.

While I was looking for some pictures of the SS E-I I noticed that Siemens-Schuckert also built a triplane fighter, the D.Dr.I.
This plane crashed on it's maiden flight and was never built again.

I think just like the E-II and E-III it's difficult to get a picture of the triplane, but maybe you can help.

Greetings,

Jos

HOLY COW! Would somebody PLEASE post the stats? (length, span, wing chord, ANYTHING YOU HAVE!)

I've been looking for something like this for a LONG time- a monoplane that doesn't have "full flying" tail surfaces!!! Nice strut braced "conventional" tail surfaces, and nothing "weird" about the landing gear!

(drooling over this aircraft!)

"and nothing "weird" about the landing gear!"

Dunno there, mate - have another look at it in the third photograph. Otherwise much more conventional - and attractive - than the other two, major E-types.

Nice tail!

Nice tail!
Similar to the Pfalz gear, but all the flying wires go to a single bipod- no problem there.

I just found "peanut scale" plans on the web and ordered them... and found most of the specs I needed. (length, span, etc.)
