Sorry to interupt you guys in the middle of real important stuff ( the roden decals/ how high is up?); but I have a very serious (YEAH! RIGHT! ME SERIOUS!!?? HA HA HA), question. I just got informed by a foreign pen pal on the net that I will soon be the proud reciepient of some WWI model plane kits (YEAH!!!). All are in LARGE (1/32) scale except 1. It's an Eduard Fokker DVIII, in 1/72 scale. Now ya'll know I wear bi-focals and can't see s**t. that's why I work in '32 or larger. The guy means well, but , I don't think I can see well enough to do it. Is there a review anywhere on the web of this kit? I've been to M2 and Hyperscale, and found nothing. I'll probably give it to someone who can actually see to build it, but I'd at least like to see a review before it gets here. Thanks ahed of time, JW

I built that kit some years ago and have another in the stash. It's pretty much a miniature "Early" Eduard. Basic styrene pieces and an extensive PE set. The fuselage sides will need thinning in the cockpit area in order for the brass cockpit tub to fit without being squished. The loz decals are best replaced with A/G or other aftermarket products. The PE struts are relatively stronger in dink scale, but they will need thickening in cross section with CA or white glue.

I can relate to your eyesight problems. I'm leaning toward larger models myself of late. This kit should be no different than any of the early Eduard scout kits in 1/48th. You'll just need an optivisor or a strong pair of dollar store reading glasses to build it. I fondly recall the kit as it was my first time rolling 1/72 brass Spandau jackets

I've got this kit too, it's OK as Steve wrote, but instead of lozenge decals my has black checkerboad decals for the fuselage for Sachsenberg (IIRC).

Thanks for the input guys. I'll let you know when it gets here, but I really don't think I'll be able to see it well enough. JW

I got this kit some time ago at a hobby shop at 60% discount. I started it but like you all...Tooo small and not very good plus brass at this scale?????? Who looks in the cockpit of a model this small. Oh wait the rudder peddles are to the left and the rudder is straight.
