out of my league... the text is obviously an answer to von hippels request for a transfer out of flight school. mvr tells him to keep on writing even if he does not always reply due to lack of time. and promises to be helpful in moving von hippel but sees the badge (pilot i presume) as a prerequisite. the text is supposedly written by one of mvr's mechanics.

It seemed odd to me that his mechanics would be helping with correspondence but I noted the date, 19.6.17, and this would be just before Richthofen tapped Bodenschatz as his adjutant while the new JG1 was being formed. (reference "Hunting With Richthofen" by Jan Hayzlett)

There are also discussions of this post card under the thread MvR and Max signatures on eBay. This is great piece and I hope that more will come to light.
