I just purchased a box kit for about $5 at a local Walmart! Anyone use their custom decal paper and bond spray kit?
I just went to their website and ordered some more paper but have not yet printed any decals. testors item # 9202 and 9200
Looks like inkjet decal making will now hit mass market by Testors. Look out lozenge and unit markings....
anyone here use their paper?

Will do.
Generally the only consideration is that it is white paper. Other than that it is all ones own artwork capability. The kit comes with a 3 oz spray bonder, 2 sheets of paper (about half sheet size which is okay), and a small CD for a program to load in and print basic decals. Myself, skip the CD. I use photoshop for all my stuff and I have a lot of unit markings already from my profiles as well as different color lozenge template sections for German aircraft.
I am working on a set of decals for a resin 1/72 scale SaL 2a that I bought some time ago. Doing 12th Aero for that. Also a resin W 12. I am doing a section of the "brown" scheme sea lozenge for that one but not sure what particular machine I will do.
I ordered more paper. It comes in 5 packs for about $7. I hope the paper is thin enough as I have found product like Vita Cal inject paper a little too thick.

This paper is the best I have ever used! IT IS EXCELLENT!!
I just printed on my first sheet and the print quality is SUPER!!! It looks no different than any fine model decal sheet. You would never know it came off an inkjet. No runny color, no blur, no colors drying with bubbles or cracking. FINE details can be printed easily.
I took a photo of the sheet I made. I will post it up today or tommorrow. Just amazing quality from this Testors product.
I have an old Revel 1/72 S 13 which I am changing markings complete to 13th Aero, Capt Biddle, #0 which I will repaint and do first.
First test run it appears it is almost too thin...lol. not sure if I need to brighten up the decal images to compensate or what but otherwise very good.

Wingstrut, Thanks for the info. I bought the same product on a whim, but haven't tried it out yet. Will let y'all know if it works on a bubblejet printer, as well. If it does, I just might have to sit down and learn Photoshop. Y'see, there's this Belgian HD.1 emblazoned "Butterfly". . .

& they wont ship the solvent overseas. So it will be along time before we see this down under. Not that I could use it at present as my printer died.

We prefer to keep our chemical pollutants right here anyway. The fish in the streams just cannot seem to get enough of sniffing model glue........

One consideration is that the decal it produces is so thin that it is almost transparent. You will want to consider possibly painting the area where your decal will go a white or light gray color otherwise the paint of the model will show through the decal or shade it much darker. Plain paper/normal printing is the recommended setting for desk jet. I set graphics and print at 600dpi.
