Hello,
I would like to know when Lt. Kroll (33 victories), started to fly the Fokker DVII. Thank you. :-/ :-/

According to my files, his first victory with the Fokker D.VII was on May 31, 1918. His previous victory was on April 1, 1918, while flying Alb D.Va 7401/17.
Frank.

Jasta 75:
If my memory serves me right the serial number was Fok. D.VII(Alb)666/18.

Dear Immo,
According to Above the Lines, he was probably brought down by Cpt. Clive Warman of 23Sq. RFC. Warman was flying a Spad 7 (B1581) when the fight occured.

Thanks JASTA75,
puh, must have overread that Of course I have Above the Lines in my collection.
BTW, his Albatros D V 2075/17 was so crippled in this fight that it was sent to AFP 4 two days later.
regards, Immo

If my memory serves me correctly that is the D.VII with the diamond pattern painted on the rear fuselage and nose. I have no idea what the colors were but black and yellow are a possibilty.

I've not seen anything on Kroll's markings other than the Albatros D.V he flew in 1917. The diamond D.VII, are you sure? Sounds a lot like Sachsenberg's D.VII to me!

Cigogne,
No, I'm not sure. But I do remember seeing somewhere(D.VII Datafile I think) a picture of a D.VII serial number Fok.D.VII(Alb.)666/18. I'm not home now to check my reference. But I do remember thinking that it would be a good subject for a model. I won't be near my library for a few days so perhaps someone could check it out for me.
