I have been playing RB3d for sometime know and I feel quite comfortable with it. I usually fly as the Squadron commander and really enjoy it. The only thing that I cannot figure out is how to get the rest of my squdron to attack the airfield after I already started my attack on said field. My flight just buzzes around and does much of nothing. This also can be said when I try to escort bombers. The bombers never rendevous with my flight and they fy continuous circles over the airfield.

Can any one help me figure this out. I'm pulling my hair out over this!!!

thanks

Do you fly a lot on autopilot? I've found that when I rely on the autopilot to make the rendezvous, I get the same endless circling that you do. The other thing to pay attention to is the time of the rendezvous as shown on your kneeboard. Typically, I show up about five minutes early, and then there?s a lot of waiting and circling.

Regarding the aerodrome attacks: try modifying the mission to come in to the airfield at a lower altitude (or even from a different direction than initially indicated), and, again, pay attention to the time. Otherwise, I don?t know what to say. There?s a bunch of RB3D players on this board, though, so I?m sure somebody will help.

Regards,

I find that if you put yourself into full autopilot for the start of the attack, your wingmen do go on to shoot at stuff. As soon as they begin shooting (usually long before I do!) take autopilot off and give those ground crew hell!

Not sure about the escort - I don't think it's ever happened to me.

yes, i ve heard of leaving the autopilot on until the squadron attacks. so far, im not up to that point in this campaign. the lads do fine strafing on their own. but they dont tend to stick around very long, so i have to watch them so i dont get left as fokker fodder....

as to the endless circling... sometimes they just dont jive. but lately, no problems... glitch in coding...

:I have RB11 with RB3d super patch and the only way I can get the Bommers to Jive is to set off in full auto pilot and let the game talk this way allways works after that I dissengage auto and do as I please. I usually drop a few bombs myself if my Plane can carry them if not let a few rockets off.

As for tsrffing air fields the trick is to dive down to lawnmower height let your rockets go and straff quickly and leave quickly, this way you will be back agian usually I fly away before the rest of my guys and circle for while but they usually soon follow.

Good hunting keep the sun in thier eyes!
