Ok, I hate to bring this up, but, thinking more about the BB controversy, I had to wonder about the guys on the East side of the trenches. I know we've all heard or read about people like Taffy Jones who would write stories after the war denigrating the reputation of the Red Baron. And I believe there might have been a few others as well.
But, what about the other way around? Did any of the surviving German pilots/aircrew ever write a book and mention an "enemy" pilot that they thought was either heroic or cowardly, or...a fraud??
The way I see it, if Jones wrote something derogatory about MvR, then someone on the other side might have written something derogatory about an allied ace.
For that matter, did ANY German or Austrian write a book after the war and attack the veracity of anyone on THEIR side??
