My money is on Mike W, our resident Triplane expert. I've emailed this inquiry to him. BTW - thanks for the pic Peter. S!

No plan, but a couple of thumb nail sketches; see:

"The Fighting Triplanes", by Evan Hadingham, Hamish Hamilton, Ltd. London, 1968, pps. 194-195, and:

"Reconnaissance & Bomber Aircraft of the 1914-1918 War", D.A. Russell, Harleford Publications, Ltd. Letchworth, Herts, England, 1962, page 205 (Top right).

Best I could do at 10:00 PM. Rick

Thanks guys. I have both the books mentioned and some others and based my attempt at a drawing on the phots and given dimensions

Is the Mike W mentioned the host of Triplane Madness. I have been trying to mail him some pics he doesn't have on the site but his e-mail just bounces back.

On another board someone remembers an article and drawing in the long gone 21st Century Profile. Anybody have a copy?

No Peter, Mike W is an occasional visitor to this forum who has assisted me in identification of Sop Tripes and RNAS a/c at my site. You're looking for David Johnson. See above thread: "Windsock Datafile #15, Somebody dropped the ball."

You've got me on this one I'm afraid, the best source that I've got on the 2B.2 Rhino is "Sopwith Aircraft 1912 - 1920" by H F King and published by Putnam. There are several interesting photographs and a nice shot of an uncowled engine. No line drawing though.
