The German Naval pilot Vfmst Max Winkelmann who seems to have been an original member of Jasta 5 is usually listed as POW on 26 January 1917
Ref TJP and TJWC. Some sources says he was shot down by British AA... I wonder if anyone knows what G-number he possible received by the British and if it exists any reports on the aircraft or POW interviews..? He was later repatriated and according to German Naval sources he received the Ehrenpreis on 13 July 1918 for the destruction of an enemy aircraft on 27 January 1917.... Something strange here..! Is there any British losses on 27 January 1917 which can confirm his victory....did it happened on the 26th or 27th..? Perhaps he was a victim to a French aircraft..?
