Vicente Almandos Almonacid was born in Argentina on 12/24/1891. He was a civil engineer who designed his own plane, then went to France in time to see the beginning of WWI. He joined the Foreign Legion on 8/10/1914, then transferred to aviation with Esc. M.F. 35. He later served with M.F. 29, which eventually became Sop. 29 and ended up as Bre. 29. AFAIK, he was credited with 3 E.A. He reached the rank of Capitaine, and re-
turned to Argentina after the war. There is a very complete article on his career in Windsock Vol. 10, #3.
