Here is one that I have never seen posted on the Forum. Did the U.S. Navy or Army Air Force fly aircraft out of Hawaii in 1914-1918? Were they engaged in looking for possible German raiders in 1917-1918, when the USA declared war on Germany?

I found quite a bit of information concerning the Curtis Flyingboats built in the Us 1914-1918. All of the articles indicated they were used for patrolling the Atlantic Coast or they were built for the Brits. There was no mention of the Pacific or Hawaii.

That's what I thought, Leo. Perhaps the U.S. did not feel much of a threat from German surface raiders in 1917 to bother on the West Coast and Hawaii. I mean, for a while, no one even knew that SMS Wolf was in the Pacific. Seaplanes, then perhaps might have been sent to Hawaii?!
