I think it's about time hollywood made a movie about
our beloved subject, with the special effects now available they could really do it justice, but who's story would make the best film?

Sandra Bullock in a towel? Sounds good to me.

Boys, behave yourselves... Elevate the tone...
I suggest Mick Mannock, Because of the ultimate tragedy, and besides, who besides we have ever heard of him?

Sometime back, a guy with the unlikely nom de guerre of Spider, contacted me for info on Mannock. Claimed he was putting a script together for some Hollywood studio....He went on to say it had been accepted and funding had been provided.
He said he would get back to the Forum when more details were finalised... Needless to say, we've heard bugger all since.....The phrase "Sizzle, Sizzle, Wonk!!", immediately springs to mind!

Nungesser!!! The final scene would be the White Bird crashing into the forest in Maine.

Part of the problem with Mannock, Nungesser, Fonck, Voss, MvR, is that these men LIKED IT. They looked forward to the hunt, felt satisfaction with a kill, gloated when the enemy burned. This is not a popular attitude in Hollywood for a hero... It's honest, but, truth and an acceptable story are strangers.
