Jasta 20 in oktober 1918

Hello,
Can anyone help me with information on Jasta 20 in oktober 1918. Were did they stay on these last days of the war and were they involved in any action.
I believe that ltn.d.R. Waldemar von Dazur was the last CO because Joachim von Busse was wounded. According to the book Jasta Pilots they stayed at Menin till the end of war, but this must be impossible.

Hi

Agree; some extra work is required in regards the locations given in Jasta Pilots for many of the Jadgstaffeln in the final months - taken of face value; many would have been behind Allied lines as of October & November. However Js 20 was in same Jdgp as Js 40 and here we have some reliable visibility and I would suggest they shared the same fields pulling back - Courtrai, Wynghene, Gontrode then Arntwerp. German record keeping in final months was not good.

Cheers Russ

Rick Duiven sources gave the following for Jasta 40 (belonging to JagdGruppe 6 together w/ Jasta 7, 20 & 51 since 1 October):
28 September-8 October: Bisseghem
8-10 October: Halluin
10-22 October: Wynghene
22 October-5 November: Gontrode
5-11 November: Anvers-Wilrijk

Hope it helps

Thank you, for the information.

But Jasta 40 could only have stayed untill 16 or 17 Oktober in Wingene. The town was allready liberated in the night of 17 on 18 Oktober by French and Belgians troops.

Karl Plauth Jasta 51 also off Jdgp 6 wrote in his diary: airfield exchange on 16 oktober 18.

The airfield was taken over by Escadrille Salmson 61 on 20 Oktober.
