New Werner Voss photo available on E-Bay
Mates,
A new photo of an old photo of Werner Voss standing next to his mom and dad and brother (Max) and his Albatros D.III ver 2. You will notice that Werner is facing front and not side front as the older picture I have seen of him.
Very interesting profile and the price is $401 so far and there is still 1 day to go on the bidding.
Foto-AK Flieger Werner Voss WW 1 Flugzeug Albatros D III Orden Pour le Merite
Jagdflieger Krefeld Langemarck Flandern Belgien.

I accessed e-bay too late. Thanks for posting the photo.
It is such a touching scene of mom & dad, looking so respectable and no doubt extremely proud of their son.
At the same time i think of the anguish they will have suffered (for the rest of their lives) after his demise.
You are "the man" when it comes to Voss!

Mate,
Thanks for that pat on the back - sometimes I need that. Just trying to help out the community when I see new info about WW1.

Nice photo. His parents do look quite proud, however, Werner kind of has the pose and look of "hurry up an take the damn picture!"

A great photo, its hard to imagine how many undiscovered gems like this is out there.Still waiting for someone to discover autochromes of WWI birds.

I don't think this is an entirely "undiscovered" photo Willi. If I'm not mistaken it is one of a series of no less than 16 photos** taken at Amfeld in June 1917.
**source: Dan-San Abbott, IIRC.

Tom,
In particular, I'm refering to this photo that you're probably already aware of:
Guido Scheffer's original numbered photo is attached below.
I can't remember any others in this set offhand, only that I was told there were at least 16. As I mentioned, I believe "no less than 16 photos" was me quoting Dan-San. I'm not finding anything in the archives, although I think this came up in a discussion when someone colourized the image. (2nd and 3rd attached)
Cheers

Hi Rod,
The planes in the photos are different. There is no heart on the turtle deck in the ebay photo. It must have been taken on a different day.
