National Archives - frustration

I have attempted to get the National Archives to provide specific information several times recently, and every time they just auto-reply saying 'request would take too long'.... even when I've given them the EXACT reference and there's only 3 pages to scan and email to me. Am I alone in thinking they just don't have the staff to offer any sort of service despite their promised 24 hour turnaround? Just what, I wonder, COULD they do for the £8.50 charge??!! Just exasperating....

Perhaps you should lighten their work load by ordering one page at a time? Of course that would be expensive (GBP25.50).

p.s. Reminds me of Groucho Marx (Secretary: "Can I have your O.K.on this document?" Groucho: "I'm very busy. I'll give you an O. now but come back later for the K.!")
