Fokker D.VII Undercarriage Color

I know this has come up before, but I can't seem to find it.
I want to build a model of a generic Fokker D.VII. What color should the undercarriage airfoil be? Olive on top and Blue on the bottom? Green top and bottom?
It will have 4 color fabric.

Generic green on top and light blue on the bottom.

I recommended generic colours.

Well, I am building the old Aurora D.VII without too much modifications. That is why I said generic. Does it resemble any one manufacturer over another? Would all of the manufacturers' paint the axle wings the same?

Actually Sean Yes the old Aurora 1/46 scale kit has the hallmarks of a late OAW type.

Also, the parent company Schwerin and the two licence manufacturers (Albatros at Johannistahl and OAW at Schneidemuhl) did use their own stocks of paint colours. They did vary in tone one from the other.

Coverage was pretty standard in location. Check existing photographs of different types. References are key to help. OAW was famous for their two toned paint schemes on the cowling . Green with mauve lozenges and the wing axle was halved in green & mauve.

Of interest in the factory photo are the weight blocks used to keep the tails down during manufacture and the unpainted grommets on the fuselage sides for the control wires.

the "unpainted grommets "are leather ovals sewn over the fabric to keep it from wearing out and tearing at the cable points for the controls
as for the weights at the tail i would think as the airframe has nothing on it to counter the engine

That is Aeromaster's old rendition of the 5 colour. The only game intown back in 1992. It was this set being sooo out of tune with your specs that made me study the subject. And eventually give Gaston Bernal the Pantone colours of our 5 colour at the Lafayette Foundation. Your research was always the benchmark for me. Though it won a placing at the 2000 IPMS nationals it just proved to me that there was more to learn.
