New DR1 Update

Been awhile ( back in October 07!)since we first posted expecting the first flight of the new build DR1 at sywell in the UK. We have been awaiting paperwork and this week w finally had a visit from the man from the LAA. Hopefully this means the permit to test will arrive soon when we have cleared up the couple of points that were raised

There was concern about the positive lead on the battery contacting the battery box.

Aileron stops on the floor boards

The main one was regarding the rudder cables, this particular A/C has doubled up rudder cables and the fitting at the horn needs looking at to prevent excess stress on the cable ends.

And that was it!!!

Hopefully required paperwork will be here soon and first flight will follow soon after

Thanks Major,

When you say aileron stops, did the LAA want aileron stops fitted? I havent fitted any control stops as they are not shown on the drawings, but if the LAA require them I had better start looking at fitting them.

Keep us posted on the first flight

Francis seemed to like the idea of stops on the ailerons, he was'nt to keen on the ones Paul had fitted so we are changing them. They are very simple hard wood wedges fitted to the floorboards.

PM me with your email and i can email you some pics.:
