One can't help but admire the sturdy but clean lines of the type. The internally braced monoplane wing with the inverted dihedral with no wires rivals Fokker's cleanest designs.
I'll bet the ground crewmen must've been loath to clean up the cockpit of the Sopwith "Kennel" after a dogfight. Or was that maybe a weapon of sorts? Doubled as a bomber! I believe I saw personal markings painted on the side of one example in a rare photo... "Doo doo"
However, mechanics must've loved the ease at replacing the cowling after a nose over with the stock dog dish from RFC stores.
