Does anyone have information on the career of E.C. Emmett a South African pilot/instructor in the RFC/RAF. He taught then Lt(temp) Charles Eaton to fly. Dr Charles Stuart Eaton (his son) and myself (his biographer) would be grateful for any assistance.

Hope this is of interest. Emmett served 26 Sqn East Africa.
Start date unknown but left 8/12/16. To SA And Uk Later
to 113 Sqn Palestine

More info for you on Emmett after trawling through all out
ME stuff over the hols:-
Later half of 1913, five officers of South African Defence force selelcted for flight training (including Emmett) Course of
flying at Kimberley then Tempe then to Uk for final Inst. Attach 3 Sqn RFC 1/8/14 gained Royal Aeroclub Cert No.832
9/7/14.
Sometime after Nov 14 rtned SA on recruitment drive for ops in S W Africa. To 26 Sqn E Africa. Known ops on 15 Feb 16,
2/3/16: 29/5/16; 8/6/16; 19/7/16; 17/9/16. flew BE2c's 4318;
4359; 4358; 4409; 4556.
To CO B-Flight . On 21/3/16 replaced by O'Brien.
To Egypt Sept 1917. To F/Comm School of Aerial Fighting from
24/9/17 to 3/11/17. To C.O. SAF from this date.
To 113 Sqn Palestine as F/Comm 12/2/18 till ???
DFC awarded 9/9/18.
If you are interested all RAeC details held at the RAF Museum
Hendon London. You may be able to have Emmetts RAeC
ID photo copied by them
