218 Squadron RAF

"Another first for the 218 was on September 18, 1918 when Lt F.P Mulcahy and Cpl T.L McCullough became the first United States Marine aviators to shoot down an enemy aircraft in combat, a Fokker DVII".

Both recieved the Navy Cross.

Were this crew aboard a DH9 or DH9A?

regards

Keith
