Jasta 18 Casualties
On 24th April 1917, according to the various Norman Franks books, Jasta 18 C.O. Rittm. Grieffenhagen was injured in a crash-landing following a combat, and Ltn Kleindienst was shot down in flames and killed at 09.20am (which I assume is German time and would be 08.20 British time).
Does anyone have any further information on the circumstances of these casualties, like whether both occurred in the same fight, and who or what they were fighting?
I think it MAY have been 20 Sqn RFC's FE2d's, but I'd like to confirm that if possible.
Cheers,
Bob
