Hello all,
Still looking to no prevail for my WW1 man. Name Joe Rees, army id # 1059621. I have written to the nation archives in Washington, but due to a fire in 1973 in St. Louis they say that there are NO records. So..... does anyone know where else i can look. The letter i have is to his mother in Cleveland, Ohio. I have checked Ohio National militia and then was told that since he was at Hempstead NY, he could have been at Camp Mills. This has been 20 years of searching. The only info he gave his mom is that he WAS NOT on the Vaterland and that he was leaving out of Hempstead Long Island New York. Any info would be appreciated. I understand that if he was in the 223rd that it could and probably was changed when the national militia was federalized. If you can help, I sure would appreciate it. Thanks, Cathy |
