New WW I acrylic paints

It's been awhile since model paint manufacturers made paint for World War I A/C. Now a new batch of acrylics for all nations is being done by MisterKit. Check it out.

Hey Red !! IT's Yours Truly Mike !!! Hey I post Here ! THese Guy's must be SICK of me Hawking MK !!

Ive been trying to sing it form the roof tops !! A few US Sites still have some residual Stock left over from a couple of years ago. One actully goes to Italy and buys it from local retailers there and brings it back.

When I first bought some as a private modeller and was only able to get a couple of colors becuase thats all they had and said they weren't going ot order any more. I order the rest direct from Italy. About a year later still no new retailers were picking them up and were not ordering any. So in effect this product just wasn't available locally here anymore. GOne form the market. No longer available.

MK is a great product and a good company over in Italy. They never had a US DIstributor and when just sort of goofing I volunteered for the job, They accepted.

THE reason it was never really consistently carried is the tremdous cost of importing such a specialized limited demand product. It is definately not like Asian Products with a Huge volume and a 45% discount for retailers. I have been hard pressed to cover the overseas shipping and maintain a fair market retail price for everyone. One of the biggest problems is advertising is a huge cost over a hundered dollors for a tiny 2 inch space per issue.

So in essence I can assure you there is NOT any advertising Budget here.

I appreciate the word of mouth. Thanks for finding my site. I wish everyone would give them a try and order a few for there next WWI Aircraft modelling project.

But being such a WWI Airplane Model FANATIC I just couldn't see such a Unique Product Specificly for WWI ACFT NOT be readily available here in the GREAT US OF A so I have taken it upon myself to provide a Single Point for Dircet Mail Order sales for it here in the US by Provideing that site and keeping the entire Line of WWI colors in Stock.

Yours Truly Mike

Hi Mike, I need to get an order up too, I post here far too little, only when I get a WW I addiction and build WW I models only for about three months, then slack off for something a little easier.

I've gotten so weird, I've built a jet, a helo, and a turbo as my last three models!

First, Red, let me just share my thrill at seeing that the immortal sports columnist for the old National Lampoon, circa 1973-75, is not only still among us, but a Great War modeler as well!

And all the above about Mr. Kit is valid. Now I can't begin a WW I build without a supply from Mike. For me, it's like building a bipe without rigging wire. I especially like the way the MK/MKUSA web sites gives us capsule descriptions of how the color -- taken from, say, an oxidized cutting from the fuselage linen of some arcane Austro-Hungarian a/c -- was chemically analyzed in order to arrive at the hue we get in the bottle. It's truly amazing how they can figure out that a color that time has turned to brown can be shown to have begun life as a bright blue or red, Red.

An old fan of Mr. R.R.,
TOM
