Another amazing piece of art. I bow down to your skills. Have you ever thought of painting one of the American Civil War naval battles?

I'm dying to see the original. The texture of the jacket and facial features just don't come out as well in digital reproduction but I know they're there. Its killing me. Also, remember that the color study had lots of red in it that has been replaced - for the better in my view - with gold, yellows and brown. It really works well for the mood of the piece. Note to authors- if Russ ever offers to do cover art for your book... say "yes!"

And yes, the book is nearly done, too. I'm really excited... we've had tons of new mailing list subscribers come in recently and the USAFA called last week asking me to come back, so that's another good indication that momentum is building.
