It's not right to start naming roads, buildings, etc. after people who are still alive and healthy. It's downright disgusting for a mediocre, overpaid "entertainer" with a monstrous ego to be actively campaigning for his own name to appear on any street. Indiana should tell Letterman to go stick his name where the sun don't shine.

Ahh, THAT's more like it - the old days, redux.

1) David Letterman wanting his name on a highway is a spoof on the notion of naming highways after so-called lumionaries, plain and simple. Context, chilluns - context! Letterman is having you on. Heck - we're naming airports and schools for the Father of the Deficit - why not an "overpaid, mediocre entertainer", too, while we're at it?

2) I miss the Clinton years, especially now that we have a mumbling cretin for "president". Some amazing choice of puppet for the Cheney Gang - he can hardly speak his own "language"!

3) Why isn't this thread in OFF TOPIC, where I won't accidentally step in it and soil my effete, city-boy footwear?

I'm no fan of the Republicans, but the plain, nasty truth is this:

The "Fathers of the Deficit" are the Democratic congressmen who wouldn't give up their pet social engineering programs to save America's defensive forces.

Kind of leaves a yucky taste in your mouth, doesn't it?

Stephen
That's one way to look at it. I tend to think we spend too much on alot of things, the military-industrial complex (a Repub warned us about that - who was he? ) being at the top of the list.

Regarding TG, he agreed with ME, of all people, at the end of page one, so he's well beyond the pale as it is!

Stephen,
The other day I was putting Weir cook in goggle & I came to a page I wasn't aware of. It's IN.gov/legislative , I knew this was going to happen but not when & what was said. It's on renaming the airport resolution. It's not the greatest news but at least their talking & will again ! The airport mentions FLEXIBILITY, go figure!
