My Gallery
The Stand (the painting, not the book) is finally finished. Color correcting this one to post online was a real bear, specifically in light of the fact that the painting is still at the printer, so I had to color correct it from memory. I hope both the book cover and the prints come out somewhere near as nice as the original did. As usual, the image online doesn't do justice to the real thing. I painted this one using a series of glazes, and there are some really nice subtle undertones in the leather jacket, the leather helmet and the flesh tones.

Prints on canvas will be available. Image area of the canvas prints wil be 24" x 17.75". I may make a series available on paper too, but I haven't made a final decision on that yet. My printer and I are currently exploring different paper options, and if we find one that I like, then there will be a paper edition.

The original will be available for purchase.

The Stand
25" x 18.5"

Thanks so much, Mike.

I actually just replaced the images. i took a look at it on my wife's computer this morning and it looked a wee bit oversaturated. I made a couple of small tweaks and then dropped the new images back in.

Awesome work Russ! It really has that right 'feel' to it (you can tell Luke knows the situation he's in, and he's not going down without a fight! ).

Darren

Hi Russ,

Laura has been in radiation therapy for the past two weeks, and has not experienced any of the side effects yet (and we hope this continues!). Radiation is the only option at the moment, as the 'experts' have ruled out another surgery, or the possibility of chemo.

Thanks for all the prayers, and we hope you and Susan are doing well also.

Regards,

Darren
