Williams wrote that the BE2c in the Seuz Canal area of desert climbed at about 100 feet per minute in midday heat, Mark Lax wrote that the climb rate for the BE2c was "25 mins to get to 5000ft" in the desert.

What was the cause for the loss of power on the BE2c's motor from the heat?
