Hmm... correct me if I am wrong (I can count on y'all to do that right?) but isn't that a 100 HP model? It's a 9-cylinder, I thought the 80 HP models were only 7.

I spent Saturday at a local fly-in. (for ultralights, although there were some n-numbered experimentals there... and one spam can.)

I found some good parts sources, and some innovative ways to do some things... which I will of course put to use.

All those wires, and nary a turnbuckle in sight...

Sorry for the accidental double post. Thanks Lyle. Hope you can make it from FL sometime. I know it's a long way. The AirFair went well. We had really good attendance, the weather was fine. But it was too windy to fly the Bleriot and the crankshaft broke on the LeRhone of the Thomas-Morse Scout so it was grounded. But we're pushing hard to have some additional planes flying by the October fly-in plus we're assembling a non-flying Wright Flyer as a centerpiece for the celebration of 100 years of powered flight next year. Busy as one-legged men at a butt-kickin' contest.

Sorry... I knew the Oberusel 80 hp was 7 cylinders, and I thought it was a LeRhone copy.

Hello,

I think you confuse something here. "Gnóme" and "Le Rhóne" are different working priciples of the engines.

The 80 PS 7 cylinder Oberursel U.0 was a "Gnóme" type engine, so was the 100 PS Oberursel U.I with 9 cylinders and the 160 PS Obersursel U.III with 14 Cylinders in twin row arangement (two 7 cylinders behind each other in one block).

The 110 PS Oberursel Ur.II was a "Le Rhóne" type engine as the 145/160 PS Oberursel Ur.III 11 Cylinders was.

The one shown in the photo above is a French "Le Rhóne" produced by the Company of Societé des Moteurs Gnôme et Le Rhône

Hopefully this clears the matter a little bit!

Ok, more updates on the Eindecker.

Fuselage structure design is done except the landing gear attach. Gear is still under consideration, and near finalized. Tail surface design done, wing design done. Geottingen 387 airfoil selected for a nice docile flight envelope. (no, it won't look quite right, no undercamber!) Aileron design done. About to start construction of tail surfaces.

Work delays due to my own hospitalization and that due to my son's car wreck have slowed things a bit at the Old Kingsbury Aerodrome. However some small progress has been made. The rudder and rudder/vertical stab. of the Fokker Dr.I and Fokker D.VII respectively have been painted, decaled and are complete. I also began fabricating the control stick for the Fokker D.VII and it should be ready soon. The Canuck is undergoing its final inspection, etc. before the fuselage is covered. It should be flying in a few weeks.
