Nieuport 17 instruments

I'm sure this isn't a new topic but I'm looking for information on cockpit instruments for my Nieuport 17.I have so far a Army Signal Corps Tycos altimeter and a Army Signal Corps tach. I know, these aren't strictly original but should look resonably accurate. My question is: did the original Nieuport 17 have any sort of airspeed indicator? I've seen the one at Rhinebeck with the strut-mounted unit and would like to know if that was original equipment or if they had any sort of airspeed indicator at all.BTW,I have two Army Signal Corps type B tachs for sale, look to be in nice condition.Never thought I was a 'morning person' but dawn patrols have been great !

N17 Instruments

The French and Italian N11s and N17s were only equipped with a TEL 0-1500 RPM white faced tachometer mounted to the right of the cockpit on a stalk (no dash). Closeups of Lafayette Escadrille's N11s show what looks like an altimeter outside the cockpit at lower right edge of windshield and another unidentified instrument next to it, and a map case at the front of the cockpit. British N17s always seem to have an airspeed pitot mounted on the V-strut, and I saw a closeup of a British N16 cockpit that had a dashboard mounted altimeter and airspeed. The N28s had only a centrally mounted Jaeger black faced tach.
