Modern Coverings....
I am going to begin a new forum (from the DR1 Builders Group) for this topic as there are so many choices and arguments for each one!
WHAT do use to cover your planes? Wicks specifies Ceconite, medium weight (approx 2.6/2.7 or so). We hear from other and learned sources that 1.7 will do! Some like Ceconite over Poly-Stits because they prefer dope (flammable tho, yes?). The 1.7 weight is not certified anywhere that I can find but medium weight is. Cost-wise, the 1.7 is almost half the price of medium weight. Is there an absolute reason NOT to use the 1.7? will the fabric rip apart when i throw some Gs at it? Your thoughts please! |
