Hello Volks,
In response to you guys helping me find out about my relative Helmut Rusch, I dug through my grandfather's Aberdeen Proving Grounds 1919 "yearbook" to find some things of interest. At Aberdeen, they hosted the 271st Bombing Squadren that was originally organized at Ellington Field, Houston, Texas. A proud caption exclaims "One of two Handley-Page machines in this country. Also the men who haunted it at A.P.G."
Here's the scan from the book. The book on Aberdeen has full rosters and photos if anyone is interested. My grandfather took his own photos of various types of war ordinance at APG. The next 3 posts show the Handley-Page nose first in a field.
