Hello All

Very much to my surprise, I recently was given
letters written from a great uncle that served in
WWI. I assume he was a mechanic, but do not
know for sure. He writes little of his duties, but
much (although censored) of the war.

His letters span from landing in France in early
1918 to having to remain there until late 1919.

His units name was: 1st Co. 1st Reg. M.M.S.C.
(Motor Mechanics Signal Corp) Air Service AEF

Later on it was: Co I 1st Air Service Mechanic
Reg. AEF France

Does anyone have any information on this unit?
Can anyone tell me where I could possibly find
something on this unit?

Thanks
