Jasta 10 and 2 October 1917

Hi,

A qoute :

On 2 October it was a better day, and Lt Klein scored his 17th aerial victory, a DH4 at 10.40 hours over the Meulebeke region, and Lt. Rüdenberg was forced to land near Aarsele, due to combat, destroyed his aircraft completely, but stepped out of the wreckage without being really hurt !

The victory of Klein was most probably A7642 from 55 Squadron RFC, a DH4 indeed, crewed with 2nd Lt's WR Bishop and G Mathews who were both killed in this event.

But one of the men didn't have that much luck, Lt Max Römer was in combat over Westrozebeke at 10.30 hours and was killed, bad luck stroke again ...

But what/who made Rüdenberg do a forced landing at Aarsele, which is at the east of Tielt ?

And Römer ? Also in the fight with 55 Squadron ?

Thanks

Best regards,

Johan
