Nightfighters?

(I posted this in 'Aircraft', then noticed this dedicated section for Books.)

I remember reading a book by a WWII RAF gunner, telling of his experiences on early nightfighters. Fascinating stuff, hearing of the trial and error development of tactics and technology. Now I learn that nightfighters were active in WWI. So, the question is: Has anyone run across any personal narratives of WWI nightfighter aircrew? Thanks in advance.
